The PTO is a dedicated, non-profit community of parents and school leadership working together to make the American International School of Yaoundé an amazing place for our students. We are a non-political, inclusive group focused entirely on supporting our students’ education and well-being.
Our Mission: Why We’re Here
We work hand-in-hand with the school to:
- Support our kids: Everything we do aligns with AISOY’s mission and core values.
- Enhance learning: We raise funds for special programs and equipment that enrich the classroom experience.
- Build community: We host fun events that bring families and educators together.
- Keep us connected: We act as a bridge of communication and cooperation between home and school.
A Quick Note: To keep our efforts focused on community building, the PTO does not involve itself in school administration, staff performance, curriculum decisions, or handling individual parent complaints. Those matters should be discussed directly through the relevant school channels of communication.

How We Operate
- Service Term: Members serve a one-year term.
- Meetings: We meet during school hours. We ask our members to attend regularly and participate actively in agreed projects.
- Conduct: We pride ourselves on a culture of mutual respect and professional conduct toward one another and the school.
- Finances: Existing and future funds are in safe hands. Our Treasurer works with the Chairpersons and School’s Business Manager to ensure all funds are tracked transparently and spent on projects that benefit the students.
