Vice Principal's Welcome

Welcome to AISOY’s Middle and High School — collectively known as the Upper School (US)!

We are delighted to welcome all new students, parents, and teachers to the AISOY family. I use the word family intentionally because that’s exactly what our community is — a close-knit group of like-minded individuals dedicated to supporting our students' growth and success.

At AISOY, students in Grades 6–10 follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), while those in Grades 11–12 pursue the IB Diploma Programme (DP), building on the strong foundation laid in our Elementary School’s Primary Years Programme (PYP). We’re proud to be one of the few IB Continuum Schools in Africa offering all three IB programmes.

Our Upper School students are a diverse and dynamic group of learners who take initiative, ask meaningful questions, and express their understanding in a variety of creative ways. Throughout the curriculum, we emphasise strong communication skills — both written and verbal — and focus on developing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for life beyond graduation. The IB Diploma Programme is academically rigorous and offers our students the opportunity to earn advanced university credits, providing a head start in their post-secondary education. Our graduates have gone on to study in universities across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

AISOY’s faculty are certified professionals with an average of over 15 years of international teaching experience. Ongoing professional development ensures our teachers are well-equipped to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. Learning is further enriched through service-based projects: Service as Action in the MYP and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) in the DP, where students actively contribute to both the AISOY community and local partners, such as orphanages and schools.

We also believe in strong school-family partnerships. Every parent is part of our Parent-Teacher Organisation, and we encourage open communication through ManageBac — our learning management system. ManageBac allows families to monitor student progress, connect with teachers, and engage in meaningful conversations at home about learning.
