Welcome Aboard the PYP at AISOY

As I begin my second year at the helm of the Elementary Department (PYP—Primary Years Programme), I’m thrilled to continue this journey with our incredible crew of students, families, and educators. My love for international education began 25 years ago. The IB came on board soon after that, and its mission—to develop “inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people” who value intercultural understanding -still charts my course every day.

At AISOY, we don’t measure success by test scores or class ranks—we build experiences that leave a lasting mark on every learner’s journey. Calm seas or stormy waters, our PYP crew moves forward with courage, curiosity, and purpose.

The IBPYP is a living, evolving framework, and this year we’re setting sail with new adjustments to:

- Give learners more voice and choice in steering their own learning.

- Navigate deeper concept-based inquiry across subjects.

- Improve assessment practices to focus on growth, reflection, and meaningful feedback.

- Strengthen community connections through collaborative partnerships and events.
