The American International School of Yaoundé (AISOY) is recognized both locally in Cameroon and internationally. We are proud members of the West Africa International Schools Activities League (WAISAL), where we have built a strong reputation as a sports powerhouse.
At AISOY, we believe that sports are more than just competition—they are a platform for learning, growth, and character development. Our program emphasizes individual skill development, cooperation, and teamwork. While we value a competitive spirit, sportsmanship always comes before winning. A Tradition of Excellence.
Upcoming 2025–2026 Season
In the new school year, we will offer a variety of WAISAL team sports, each with an eight-week training period. Teams will have opportunities to:
- Practice and scrimmage with local schools and clubs.
- Develop game strategies through real competitive situations.
- Compete in WAISAL tournaments hosted by schools across West Africa.
AISOY runs a year-long training program for students who want to sharpen their skills and be better prepared for competitions.
We also offer Year-Long Coaching for all WAISAL sports from 3:20-4:10 on different days of the week.

Our AISOY Parrots have achieved remarkable success in recent years
Boys’ Basketball – WAISAL Champions three years in a row, with victories in Ghana (2019), Ivory Coast (2018), and continued dominance in regional tournaments, including trips to Nigeria, Senegal, and Douala in 2020.
HS Girls’ Volleyball – Champions and Sportsmanship Award winners in Ivory Coast (2022), champions again in Lagos (2023), and champions for the third time in 2024 at Abuja.
